Refund & Cancellation Policy

All service documents are written under the laws of the Republic of Korea; the Korean version is authoritative and other languages are convenience translations.

Scope

This policy applies to every paid product on SKIMTUBE. Monthly subscriptions, which provide channel alerts, units, and AI chat, are sold through both domestic payments (Toss Payments, KRW) and overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD). Prepaid credits used for one-off summaries and AI chat message packs (prepaid chat messages) are sold as one-off purchases through both overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD) and domestic payments (Toss Payments general payment, KRW). Domestic one-off products appear on the pricing page as soon as they are ready for sale; until then, domestic payments offer the monthly subscription only.

Domestic (Korean) card payments are processed in Korean won (KRW) through Toss Payments, a payment gateway (PG) service, and in that case the seller is the SKIMTUBE operator (LeanLog, the 'operator'). Payments from overseas buyers are processed in US dollars (USD) only, with Dodo Payments acting as the Merchant of Record. Overseas product prices are set tax-exclusive, and the tax due for your country is calculated and added by Dodo Payments at checkout. In regions where tax-inclusive pricing is the norm the amount shown already includes that tax, and the final charge is confirmed at checkout. Refunds are always issued to the original payment method.

Seller, payment processing, and your statutory rights

For domestic card payments (via Toss Payments, in KRW), the operator is the seller and is directly responsible for statutory withdrawal, refunds, and payment-dispute handling under the applicable laws, including the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce of the Republic of Korea. Toss Payments is a payment gateway (PG) that processes payments on the operator's behalf and is not the seller.

For overseas payments (USD), Dodo Payments acts as the Merchant of Record and handles the payment processing, taxes, refunds, and payment disputes for those purchases. Dodo Payments is the trade name under which several companies, including Dodo Payments Inc (United States), operate together, and the terms that apply to buyers are published in the Dodo Payments Buyer Terms (https://dodopayments.com/legal/buyer-terms).

Refund eligibility, request periods, and processing are governed by this policy and by the mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live; overseas payments (USD) are additionally governed by the Dodo Payments Buyer Terms. Statutory withdrawal periods differ by country (for example, 7 days in the Republic of Korea and 14 days in the EU and the UK). Domestic payments are handled by the operator directly, and overseas payments are handled by Dodo Payments as the Merchant of Record under those country-specific rules.

The sections below are additional refund and cancellation terms that SKIMTUBE provides on top of those rights. The 7-day no-fee full-refund window described below is a self-service baseline offered equally to all buyers, based on the statutory withdrawal period of the Republic of Korea; where the law of your country, or the Dodo Payments Buyer Terms that apply to overseas payments, gives you more favorable rights, those apply instead. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.

Refunds can be requested in SKIMTUBE settings, and approved refunds are processed to the original payment method through the payment provider.

Prepaid credits (one-off summaries)

  • This section applies to prepaid credits. Prepaid credits are sold as one-off purchases through both overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD) and domestic payments (Toss Payments general payment, KRW), and the same refund rules apply regardless of payment method.
  • The refund window is 7 days from the date of purchase (the statutory withdrawal period in the Republic of Korea; for prepaid credits paid overseas (Dodo Payments, USD) it is 14 days for purchases made on or after 22 September 2026, and a longer period applies where your country's statutory window or the payment provider's refund policy is more favorable). If none of that purchase's credits have been used within the window, you can request a full refund with no fee.
  • If some credits were used within the refund window, the credits you already used are deducted at the unit price you actually paid for that purchase (amount paid ÷ credits purchased), and the remainder is refunded with no fee. In other words, you get back the amount you actually paid in proportion to the unused credits; used credits themselves are not refundable.
  • After the refund window has passed, the credits you already used are deducted at the regular (undiscounted) list price, and the remainder is refunded. For discounted packages, the deduction for used credits can exceed the per-credit price you actually paid; used credits themselves are not refundable. Deductions and refund amounts are calculated on the tax-exclusive sale amount, and tax is returned in proportion to the refunded amount.
  • Topped-up credits are valid for one year from the date of purchase; any credits still remaining after that period lapse.
  • For overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD), a non-recoverable payment-processor (PG) fee may additionally be deducted from refunds requested after the refund window; the deducted amount is shown on the refund confirmation screen. No payment-processor fee is deducted from refunds within the window (whether unused or partly used) or from domestic payments (Toss Payments, KRW).
  • The refund amount and estimated deductions can be previewed in settings, and the refund runs only after you pass the confirmation step.

Monthly subscription refunds & cancellation

  • Whether allowance carries over depends on the payment method. When you pay through Toss Payments (domestic payments), the units and AI chat messages remaining from a subscription's monthly allowance do not carry over. The operator would prefer to offer the same carry-over regardless of payment method, but under the domestic payment provider's (Toss Payments) review rules for recurring payments, a subscription whose monthly allowance carries over cannot be operated as a recurring-payment product, so the monthly units and AI chat messages of a subscription paid through Toss Payments can be used only within that billing period, and whatever remains lapses when the period ends. For overseas-payment subscriptions (Dodo Payments, USD), unused monthly units and AI chat messages carry over for one more period. Wherever the items below refer to allowance 'carried over from the previous period', that applies to overseas-payment subscriptions only.
  • Cancel at period end: schedules the next renewal to stop. Your benefits continue for the period already paid, with no separate refund. You can resume before the renewal date if you change your mind.
  • Immediate cancel & refund: we refund the smaller of (a) this billing period's payment minus the service you already used (summary units, AI chat, etc.), and (b) the prorated amount for the remaining period — and the subscription ends right away. How the used service is valued depends on the time since the charge (or renewal). Within 7 days of the charge (or a longer period where your country's statutory window or the payment provider's refund policy is more favorable), used units and AI chat are deducted at the contract rate of that charge — the amount you actually paid in proportion to the monthly allowance; after those 7 days they are deducted at the regular (undiscounted) list price. Only for usage deductions within 7 days of the charge, we apply whichever is more favorable to you: the contract-rate basis or the regular list-price basis. After the 7 days, deductions and refund amounts are calculated on the tax-exclusive sale amount, and tax is returned in proportion to the refunded amount. Usage deductions and refund eligibility are judged on this billing period's own allowance only; units and AI chat messages carried over from the previous period were provided by that earlier payment and are not deducted. On immediate cancellation, only what this period granted lapses: its remaining units and its monthly AI chat messages. Units and AI chat messages carried over from the previous period remain until the end of their original carry-over window, because an earlier payment already covered them. Credits and AI chat message packs (purchased chat) bought separately are likewise unaffected by cancellation.
  • If you used none of this billing period's own allowance (no summaries, AI chat, or channel alerts — spending only allowance carried over from the previous period also counts as unused here) and it is within 7 days of the charge or renewal (or a longer period where your country's statutory window or the payment provider's refund policy is more favorable), we skip the calculation above and refund the full charge with no fee. After those 7 days, a period you used nothing in is still refunded with no fee, at the prorated amount for the days remaining. For overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD) with any usage, a non-recoverable payment-processor fee may additionally be deducted. No separate payment-processor fee is deducted for domestic payments (Toss Payments, KRW). The refund amount and deductions are shown before you confirm.
  • If a renewal payment failed and the subscription is on hold, you can restore it by updating or re-registering your payment method (card) in settings.

AI chat message pack refunds

  • AI chat message packs (prepaid chat messages) are sold as one-off purchases through both overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD) and domestic payments (Toss Payments general payment, KRW), and the same refund rules apply regardless of payment method. The refund window is the same as for prepaid credits (7 days from purchase; 14 days for overseas-payment packs purchased on or after 22 September 2026; a longer period applies where your country's statutory window or the payment provider's refund policy is more favorable). If none of that purchase's messages have been used within the window, you can request a full refund with no fee. If some were used within the window, the messages you already used are deducted at the per-message price you actually paid for that purchase (amount paid ÷ messages purchased) and the remainder is refunded with no fee. After the window has passed, the messages you already used are deducted at the regular (undiscounted) list price and the remainder is refunded; in that case deductions and refund amounts are calculated on the tax-exclusive sale amount, and tax is returned in proportion to the refunded amount. In every case, used messages themselves are not refundable.
  • Purchased chat messages are valid for one year from the date of purchase; any messages still remaining after that period lapse. Purchased chat messages are used last, after any messages carried over from the previous period, this period's subscription allowance, and any bonus messages are exhausted.
  • Chat message pack refunds can be requested directly in settings after signing in, and run after you review the refund amount and any estimated fee. For overseas payments (Dodo Payments, USD), a non-recoverable payment-processor (PG) fee may be deducted from refunds requested after the refund window (none is deducted within the window or for domestic payments); the deducted amount is shown on the refund confirmation screen. For cases not handled in settings, please use the website contact form or email [email protected].

How refunds are processed

  • Approved refunds are processed to the card through the payment provider (Toss Payments for domestic payments, Dodo Payments for overseas payments); immediately after the request they appear as pending, and complete once the processing is confirmed.
  • Timing for domestic card payments (via Toss Payments): a full cancellation on the day of payment is reflected immediately; partial refunds and cancellations from the next day onward take about 3–4 business days for the card company to process (debit cards can take up to 10 days). When the amount appears on your card statement depends on your card company.
  • If the payment provider cannot accept the cancellation right away for reasons on the operator's side (such as the provider's cancellation limit), the refund stays pending and is retried automatically once the operator has resolved it. The refunded credits or subscription time remain withdrawn in the meantime; if the refund ultimately cannot be processed, they are restored.
  • All refunds are issued only to the original payment method.

When refunds are limited

  • Credits already used (consumed in summary processing), or subscription time that has already elapsed.
  • Topped-up credits or prepaid chat messages that lapsed at the end of their validity period (one year from purchase). Lapsed balance is treated the same as balance already used and is not refundable.
  • One-time, first-purchase-only discounted products (e.g. the welcome pack or the chat starter pack) consume your first-purchase eligibility when refunded, so the same product cannot be purchased again. You are reminded of this on the confirmation screen before the refund runs.
  • Both the number of refund requests and the total amount refunded within a period may be limited to prevent abuse. When a limit is reached, only the self-service refund in settings is unavailable; contact us and we will review and handle the request.
  • When there is no refundable payment, or the refund amount falls below the minimum processable threshold.
  • Payments on accounts found to be in fraudulent use or in breach of the terms.

Payment disputes (chargebacks)

  • If a payment dispute (chargeback) is filed with your card issuer, new payments on that account (subscription charges and changes, credit and chat message pack purchases, and auto top-up) are blocked while the dispute is open. Signing in, reading your summaries, and spending balance you already hold are not affected.
  • Cancelling a subscription and requesting a refund remain available while a dispute is open.
  • If a dispute returns the money you paid, the operator may reclaim the unused balance that payment granted (topped-up credits, prepaid chat messages, and the monthly allowance it granted) and end the subscription that payment was keeping active. Any reclaim is limited to the balance still remaining at that time; you are never charged extra for what you already used.
  • In that case the block on new payments stays in place even after the dispute closes. If you need it lifted, tell us through the contact routes below and we will review it case by case.
  • If instead the dispute is withdrawn or cancelled, or the review confirms the payment was valid, the payment block is lifted and any balance that was reclaimed is restored to the extent it was reclaimed.
  • If something is wrong with a payment, please tell us through the website contact form or [email protected] before filing a dispute with your card issuer. In most cases we can resolve it faster under this policy.
  • Overseas payments (USD) are also governed by the Dodo Payments Buyer Terms (https://dodopayments.com/legal/buyer-terms). Those terms require you to contact Dodo Payments before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, and set out the consequences of not doing so (such as being barred from further purchases), so please review them before filing a dispute.

How to request a refund

Most subscription refunds, and refunds of credits and chat message packs, can be requested directly in settings after signing in, and run after you review the refund amount and any fee.

Overseas payments (USD) are handled by Dodo Payments as the Merchant of Record. You can view invoices and receipts, change your payment method, and manage your subscription in the Dodo Payments customer portal, which opens from settings. What SKIMTUBE refunds, and how much, is set by this policy; the payment transaction itself is additionally governed by the Dodo Payments Buyer Terms (https://dodopayments.com/legal/buyer-terms), and whichever of the two is more favorable to you applies. Send refund and billing questions about overseas payments to the SKIMTUBE contact routes below and the operator will handle them through Dodo Payments.

For cases not handled in settings or for other questions, use the website contact form or email [email protected]. The phone number is provided as business information only; refund requests are not accepted by phone.
