Terms of Service

1. Operator and purpose of the service

SKIMTUBE is operated by LeanLog, represented by Wonjung Choi, business registration number 740-20-02308, phone +82-10-4798-3850.

SKIMTUBE lets users submit YouTube URLs or register YouTube channels directly, then provides summaries, chapters, action items, notifications, and AI chat on the web and in the Telegram Mini App.

Outputs are provided for reference only and may not capture every detail or context of the original video.

SKIMTUBE and everything that makes it up — the software, documentation, design, trademarks, and brand elements — remain the intellectual property of the operator. These terms grant only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service, and grant no right to copy, adapt, reverse-engineer, or resell the service or any part of it.

2. Acceptance of these terms and contract formation

These Terms set out the conditions for using SKIMTUBE and form an agreement between the user and Wonjung Choi, the sole proprietor trading as LeanLog.

By checking the required consent boxes when creating an account, or by continuing to use the service after these Terms have been presented, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account, purchase a paid product, or use the service.

Purchase screens link to these Terms and to the Refund & Cancellation Policy. By clicking the final purchase or subscription button, you confirm that you have reviewed and agreed to these Terms and the Refund & Cancellation Policy, and you submit an order with an obligation to pay.

Paid transactions are sold and processed by the payment provider the operator selects, acting as the Merchant of Record, under that provider's applicable buyer terms. The payment provider is still to be determined; once it is selected, its name and the applicable buyer terms will be announced in these Terms and in the service. These Terms govern access to and use of SKIMTUBE, while the payment transaction with that provider is additionally governed by the provider's buyer terms.

If you use the service on behalf of a business or another organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Accounts and security

• Users must create accounts with an email or social login they are authorized to use.
• Users are responsible for managing account credentials and sign-in methods.
• SKIMTUBE may restrict accounts suspected of abuse, security risk, or legal violation.

4. YouTube URLs, registered channels, and content responsibility

Users should submit only URLs and channels they are allowed to access and process under applicable law and platform terms.

SKIMTUBE does not import a user's YouTube subscription list and processes only URLs submitted directly by the user or channels registered directly by the user.

SKIMTUBE creates summaries based on publicly accessible videos or user-submitted links. It does not host, redistribute, or claim rights in the original video content.

Summaries or alerts may fail, be delayed, or stop due to YouTube availability, regional limits, age restrictions, deletions, copyright restrictions, or platform policy changes. SKIMTUBE's liability is limited unless caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

If a rights holder raises a reasonable rights concern, SKIMTUBE may restrict or remove related summaries, links, alerts, or channel monitoring.

Rights holders can submit removal or restriction requests through the "Copyright / rights infringement" category of the contact form on the Support page, or by email to [email protected]. The operator reviews such requests and takes action and responds without undue delay.

5. Prohibited uses

• Using the service in a way that infringes copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights
• Bypassing limits, overloading the service, scraping, or abusing automation
• Using the service for malware, illegal content, hate, or violent abuse
• Abusing multi-account creation, free credits, payments, refunds, or subscription rules
• Bypassing adult-verification requirements or processing content inappropriate for minors
• Using or synthesizing another person's likeness or voice without consent, including deepfakes, face or voice swaps, and non-consensual intimate imagery
• Impersonating another person or misrepresenting the source or provenance of outputs
• Collecting or publishing another person's personal data without a lawful basis (doxxing)
• Attempting to bypass or disable AI safety controls, including prompt manipulation intended to evade them
• Using outputs as a substitute for professional judgment that requires a licensed practitioner, such as medical, legal, or investment advice
• Using the service in a way prohibited by sanctions, export controls, or local law

6. AI output and filtering limitations

Summaries and AI chat responses are automatically generated and may contain omissions, misunderstandings, or inaccurate wording.

For medical, health, legal, financial, safety, or other high-impact decisions, users should review the original material and consult qualified professionals. The service does not provide individual diagnosis, prescriptions, investment recommendations, or legal advice in these areas, and cannot replace the judgment of a qualified professional.

Users are responsible for the prompts and content they submit and for how they use, quote, or distribute outputs. Verify accuracy before acting on an output or publishing it, and make sure you hold the necessary rights to any link or content you submit.

To protect the service and enforce these terms and its policies, the operator may refuse to respond to a given request, filter or restrict outputs, and restrict access to a feature or an account where a violation or abuse is suspected.

Live videos, short videos, videos with insufficient meaningful content, and private, deleted, age-restricted, or region-restricted videos may fail or be filtered.

Filtering is not perfect. Incorrectly filtered items may be restored, reprocessed, or reviewed through support where technically possible.

Summary outputs already generated for a given video are stored in a de-identified form, with information that could identify an individual removed, and may be reused to serve another user's processing request for the same video. This reduces duplicate processing cost and wait time and does not expose any user's identity or personal information.

Full video transcripts (captions) are not provided to users as a viewable or downloadable document. The original transcript created during processing is deleted promptly after summarization completes (or, if another processing job for the same video is still running, after that job finishes, so it may remain for some time longer); only internally processed text needed to provide summaries and AI chat answers is retained. AI chat may quote brief passages from that internal text when answering questions about the video, but it does not reproduce the transcript in full or in substantial part.

7. AI chat and Telegram notifications

AI chat is a question-and-answer feature about the video summaries a user has received and the subjects those videos cover. It is not a general-purpose conversational assistant: questions unrelated to the user's summaries are not answered, and the chat instead points the user to summarize a related video.

When a user connects Telegram, SKIMTUBE may send summary completion alerts, new-video summary alerts for registered channels, and manually requested messages.

Reactions and interest signals left on summaries and notifications may be used as context and personalization signals for AI chat on the web and in the Telegram Mini App.

Telegram or third-party outages, account restrictions, or network issues may delay or prevent notifications and AI chat responses.

You can turn off personalization with the toggle in Settings > Account, or request opt-out through support.

8. Minors and adult content

SKIMTUBE is not primarily directed to children under 14 and may restrict use where legal guardian consent is required.

Summarization or notifications for YouTube videos that require adult verification, may be inappropriate for minors, or are restricted to users 19+ may be limited until an additional adult-verification flow is implemented.

9. Paid features, refunds, and cancellations

SKIMTUBE may provide credit top-ups, monthly subscriptions, subscription cancellation, and refunds for unused portions.

All payments are processed by the payment provider the operator selects, acting as the Merchant of Record. The payment provider is still to be determined; once it is selected, its name will be announced in these Terms and on the Business Information page. The payment provider handles payment processing, collection and remittance of taxes such as VAT, billing-statement descriptors, and refund and chargeback handling, and charges may appear on your card statement under that provider's name or a descriptor it designates.

If a payment dispute (chargeback) is filed with your card issuer, the unused balance granted by that payment is clawed back, a disputed subscription ends immediately, and new payments are blocked until the dispute is resolved. The details follow the "Payment disputes (chargebacks)" section of the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Purchased credits and prepaid AI chat messages are valid for one year from the date of purchase; any balance remaining after that period lapses. Units or AI chat messages granted separately by the company are valid for 30 days from the grant. The detailed terms follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Credits or units charged for failed jobs may be restored under the service policy.

Refunds are generally calculated based on unused credits or the remaining subscription period and usage (units, AI chat, etc.). Portions already consumed for AI processing or other service-provision costs are not refundable.

If a purchase qualifies for statutory withdrawal or cancellation within the applicable period and has not been used, SKIMTUBE may provide a full refund or payment cancellation under applicable law and payment-provider policy.

Partial refunds are calculated by deducting the portion already used, valued at the regular (undiscounted) list price, from the amount paid; the detailed basis and exceptions follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Payment processing fees, taxes, exchange rates, payment-provider policy, chargebacks, and approval workflows may affect the refundable amount and processing time.

For payment safety, and regardless of any suspicion of abuse, SKIMTUBE may cap how much an account can spend on one-off products (credit and chat message packs) within a given period. When the cap is reached, new purchases are refused temporarily and become available again automatically after the period passes.

SKIMTUBE may issue discount coupons, usable only on subscription products, through referral codes. A coupon is issued free of charge as a percentage discount; it has no face value and cannot be exchanged for cash or other products, nor transferred to another person. One coupon applies to a single subscription charge occurring within the stated period after activation, and only one coupon may be active at a time. Coupons are valid for six months from issuance and lapse thereafter.

Activating a coupon cannot be undone, and a coupon lapses if no subscription charge occurs within the stated period after activation. The conditions and timing of coupon issuance follow the criteria shown in the service. If the referred user’s first subscription payment is refunded, the coupon that would have been issued to the referrer is not issued. If a payment to which a coupon was applied is refunded, the coupon used for that payment is not restored.

Where SKIMTUBE determines that the referral program has been abused — for example by creating multiple accounts to refer oneself — it may withhold issuance or revoke coupons already issued. SKIMTUBE may change the terms of the referral program or discontinue it; coupons already issued may still be used until their existing expiry date.

Matters not specified here are handled by considering Korean e-commerce consumer protection law, Fair Trade Commission standards, relevant government guidance, and payment-provider rules in a way that is not unfairly disadvantageous to users.

10. Changes to these terms and notices

The operator may change these Terms when changes in applicable law, the service, or operating policy require it.

The changed content, the reason for the change, and the effective date are announced at least 7 days before the effective date through notices or in-service screens. Changes that are material or disadvantageous to users are announced at least 30 days before the effective date and are also sent to the registered email address.

Where applicable law requires separate consent to a change, the operator obtains the user's explicit consent. A user who does not agree to the changed Terms may stop using the service before the effective date and request account deletion or subscription cancellation.

Where prior notice is impracticable due to legal changes, urgent security issues, or urgent policy changes of external services, the change may be announced without undue delay after it is applied.

11. Service changes, suspension, and termination

SKIMTUBE may change or suspend all or part of the service due to feature improvements, security, incidents, external-provider policy changes, YouTube access restrictions, payment-provider policy changes, or operational needs.

For planned long-term suspension or termination, SKIMTUBE will provide prior notice through notices and email where possible. Urgent security, incident, or third-party outage cases may be notified afterwards.

If a paid service is terminated or unavailable for a long period due to SKIMTUBE's operational reasons, SKIMTUBE will provide a reasonable grace period to use paid value or handle unused portions in a user-favorable way, such as refunding unused value.

12. Service protection and account restriction procedure

SKIMTUBE may restrict service access or disable accounts when it suspects free-credit abuse, multi-account abuse, automation abuse, excessive requests, payment abuse, refund abuse, security risks, or violations of law or these terms.

In principle, SKIMTUBE notifies the reason and required correction through email, notices, or in-service messages. However, immediate restriction without prior notice may occur for urgent security risks, clear abuse, legal violations, or prevention of harm to others.

Minor violations may receive warning or temporary limits first, but repeated misuse or serious harm may lead to account suspension, payment/refund holds, record retention, or reporting to relevant authorities.

Users may appeal restrictions through the in-service support channel or by emailing [email protected].

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

SKIMTUBE is not responsible for service failures caused by force majeure, network failures, external service outages involving platforms, notifications, AI processing, payments, user fault, or other causes outside SKIMTUBE's control, except where caused by SKIMTUBE's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

AI summaries and AI chat are reference tools. Users are responsible for decisions made based on them and their consequences.

Where SKIMTUBE is liable, liability may be limited to direct and ordinary damages to the extent permitted by applicable law. Special, indirect, or consequential damages may be excluded.

14. International access and regional limits

SKIMTUBE starts as a Korea-based service. Access, payments, or notification features may be limited in some countries or regions.

SKIMTUBE may restrict signups or usage in specific regions when required by law, sanctions, payment provider policy, or operational needs.

15. Contact, governing law, and disputes

Questions about service use, billing, privacy, or account restrictions may be submitted through the in-service support channel or by emailing [email protected].

Disputes should first be handled through good-faith discussion. If unresolved, SKIMTUBE considers Korean consumer dispute resolution standards, Fair Trade Commission standards, relevant government guidance, and Korean law.

The default governing law is the law of the Republic of Korea. Venue follows applicable civil procedure rules under Korean law.

Mandatory rights of international users are not limited by these terms.

These terms and other service documents, including the Privacy Policy, are authored in Korean, and the Korean version is the authoritative text. Translations, including this English version, are provided for the convenience of international users. If a translation differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
